F-Sim Space Shuttle 2 is a realistic flight simulator that's launching on iOS in early August

SkyTale Studios has announced a successor to their flight simulator, F-Sim Space Shuttle. Unsurprisingly named F-Sim Space Shuttle 2, it will be heading for iOS in early August as a premium title, with an Android, PC, and console release also in the works.

It looks to simulate the approach and landing of a space shuttle in painstaking detail that looks to combine realistic flight dynamics with enjoyable gameplay, as you'd hope for from a simulator. Compared to its predecessor, SkyTale Studios says that F-Sim Space Shuttle 2 will deliver higher quality desktop graphics to iPhone and iPad.

If you're not au fait with simulator games but feel like trying your hand at launching a shuttle into space, F-Sim Space Shuttle 2 promises multiple tutorials and autopilot assist modes to get you started. Meanwhile, veterans of the genre can compete with one another on the leaderboards and simulate system failures, emergency procedures, and difficult wind conditions for an extra challenge.

In terms of landing sites, White Sands Missile Range will join Edwards Air Force Base and Kennedy Space Center, providing more choice than the original game. Meanwhile, you can also head into orbit with a full simulation of the atmospheric re-entry acting arriving in the game as a free update in the future. It will be the first of many free updates that SkyTale Studios have planned.

F-Sim Space Shuttle 2 will launch on the App Store in early August before heading to Android, PC and consoles at a later date. It will be a premium game that costs $4.99. There is no App Store link available at the moment, but we'll be sure to update this article when it is.
