Drift Champions is a retro-inspired top-down racer for iOS and Android, pre-register on Google Play now

Drift Champions is an upcoming top-down racer that's heading for iOS and Android, with pre-registration open on Google Play right now. It's been developed by Holy Cow Games who you may know from their previous game Mystic Pillars.

They've swapped methodical, serene puzzling action for burning rubber around the track then, which is quite the change of direction. Drift Champions is a retro-inspired racer with an aesthetic that juxtaposes brightly coloured cars with more muted tones for the tracks themselves. It's certainly a stylish looking racer.

Holy Cow Games are aiming to bring that sense of style into the game as well, where there will be a focus on drifting with panache. Trails will follow behind your car as you drift around corners at high speeds and these are customisable with over 100 colour options available. There will be over 10 cards to choose from as well, giving players a solid amount of customisation.

There will be a variety of game modes to engage with depending on what you're in the mood for. These include Career, Drift, Time Trial and Elimination. So if you're looking for a longer play session or just want to do a quick race, it seems you'll be well catered for.

There are a dozen different tracks to become familiar with as you master Drift Champions' simple control scheme. Your racing endeavours will be accompanied by an excellent soundtrack if the embedded trailer above is an indication of the quality throughout.

Drift Champions will eventually launch on the App Store and Google Play, with pre-registration open on the latter right now. There's no word on release date right now but we'll be sure to keep you updated. It will be a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
