The recently released This is the Police 2 sees you assuming the role of Lilly Reed, the new sheriff of Sharpwood. In recent years, the town has become an exceedingly dangerous place to live and work. To make matters worse, the young Lilly struggles to earn the respect of the officers under her command, and so she has her work cut out for her if she’s to keep the department from falling into further corruption.

The original This is the Police mixed together various elements of the adventure, strategy, and management genres to great effect. Our App Army had plenty of praise for its strategic gameplay and harsh storytelling, though there were definitely some complaints about the level of difficulty.

The sequel is said to offer ‘a deep crime story about corruption, hate, and violence’. You’ll spend most of your time managing the department, responding to emergency calls, and pondering challenging decisions that could alter the course of the narrative itself. All of this must be done with very limited resources, and things can go horribly wrong if you don't plan ahead.

Main missions will throw you into a turn-based mode where you’ll have to position your officers for raids and successfully arrest any suspects, making sure to minimise potential casualties.

If you’re interested in a challenging, story-driven adventure/management/strategy game, you’ll find This is the Police 2 available for download now over on the App Store and Google Play. It’s currently priced at $7.99 or £6.99, and therefore you don’t need to worry about ads or IAPs.
