Naruto X Boruto Ninja Tribes is a team-based combat game that sees both generations collide. It's a joint venture between publisher Bandai Namco and developer Crunchyroll. There's no release date announced just yet but they are planning to show some gameplay at Crunchyroll's own event in San Jose on August 30th, so we might find out more then.

It's been a big week if you're into a plethora of anime series with Attack On Titans Tactics being announced and One Punch Man: Road to Hero being released recently too. Now we have a Naruto X Boruto announcement to throw into the mix.

If you're unfamiliar with Naruto it's an anime that follows the story of a young ninja and his quest to become the leader of his village. Boruto is a spin-off that follows his son's adventures, hence the rhyme I guess, who is also a ninja. So Ninja Tribes will be a crossover of sorts where it brings father and son together during their prominent years.

The game will, of course, feature characters beyond the titular ninjas including Sasuke and Sakura from Naruto and Sarada and Mitsuki representing Boruto. Not a whole lot is known about the gameplay just yet but Bandai has said that it will feature one-tap team-based fights.

Additionally, they've said there will also be duo and trio combination attacks that will be unique for each pairing. Depending on how many characters make it into the final game, that's a lot of different combos to explore.

Naruto X Boruto Ninja Tribes will be available on both iOS and Android when it releases, however, there is no date at the moment. If you live in Canada or the US you can pre-register over on this Google Doc.
