Rumour: Apple's next iPhone will feature smaller 19-pin dock connector

We always take Apple-related rumours with a large pinch of salt here at Pocket Gamer Towers, but on occasions - especially if the same rumour has popped up multiple times - we're inclined to believe some of the gossip.

For a long time, it's been mooted that Apple will ditch its 30-pin dock connector in favour of a smaller port.

According to website TechCrunch, which has recently talked to three separate accessory manufacturers, the revamped dock will make its first appearance in the next iteration of the iPhone. Instead of containing 30 pins, it'll feature just 19.

A recently released video showed (in detail) the purported unibody backplate of Apple's next iPhone. In case you've forgotten, it featured a smaller dock.
