It's that time again folks, the time of the week when you let us take care of the legwork and you reap the rewards won by our tireless searching. This time we have a couple of less conventional freebies to point you towards so sit tight, get your pocket gaming apparatus handy, and read on.

As you have no doubt heard, Apple has released a software development kit (SDK) for third parties in order to bring new applications and games to the iPhone and iPod touch devices. What you probably don't know is that you can download the SDK for free (the fees on the Apple website are only applicable if you want to publish your creations for commercial use) and get cracking with creating games and applications of your own, provided you have the technical know-how.

If you do decide to purchase the Standard Program licence, who knows what can happen – maybe you'll be responsible for a future freebie featured here. All that's required is a free sign-up so if you are a code wizard, get yourself over to the Apple site and get working your magic!

Elsewhere on mobile we have another recommendation for you from our new freebie partner in crime (don't worry, it's just a turn of phrase, everything here is legal) Mobile Rated. The game in question is KGB S.W.A.T, a side-scrolling shooter, and a link to the free download page can be found here.

On PSP this week the Unofficial PSP Download Centre has come through with the goods once again, this time with a demo of Echochrome for the PSP (thanks, as ever, HiddenAway). Of course, as is often the case, it is in Japanese, but luckily it's not the sort of game where language is central to play.

The official PSP Online Store is less exciting content-wise but a fresh Worms: Open Warfare 2 theme and a Warriors Orochi wallpaper are better than nothing, especially when there's no asking price.

Lastly, a reminder of one of the best DS flash demos we've come across in an age. By pointing your browser here, not only will you have a chance to play Red Bull Breakdance Championship One well in advance of its release, but also to give the developers some feedback as well as suggestions about features you would like to be included in the final game.

Okay, that's your lot for now and we'll have no Oliver Twist-esque, 'Please sir, can I have some more?' nonsense. At least not until you have scrapped over the Freebie Archive and made some contributions to our Freebie section in the forum.

Besides, we'll be back with more next week, so click 'Track It!' to be sure not to miss it.
