Focusing is hard, that's a simple fact. You can have all the time in the world but if you can't manage it effectively you'll find yourself cramming it all into a couple of hours. Fortunately, there are techniques for managing that and even new releases that make it fun! This is exactly where today's subject, Age of Pomodoro: Focus timer, comes in!
For those of you not aware of what the Pomodoro technique is, in brief, it's a system where you work for 25 minutes and take a break for five, usually. So-called because of the fact that it's based on tomato-shaped kitchen timers (pomodoro is Italian for tomato) or so I'm told.
In Age of Pomodoro you essentially have a 4x strategy, city-building type-thing, but enhanced with the use of focus timers. Want to grow your city, trade and evolve? Well, you'll have to work, because the only way to keep it growing is to use your focus minutes and work while it does grow! It's currently available for pre-registration and expected to launch December 9th, so take a look and get ready to work away the hours as your city grows!

As far as ideas go, I think this is a pretty genius one. Speaking personally I find focusing and managing time without crunch to be quite stressful, and I know even people who don't struggle with issues such as ADHD can find it difficult to make efficient use of their time.
The idea of not only making a time management app that lets you use the Pomodoro technique but also enhancing it by letting you play while you're also not playing is ingenious. And while Age of Pomodoro isn't the first to do it, I think it's still a welcome addition to quite a niche genre.
