Tower defence meets match-3 puzzling and Sinatra in the upcoming Zombie! Zombie! Zombie!

By now, it's safely assumed that if you own a smartphone or tablet you're at least passingly familiar with match-3 style gameplay.

Big Fish Games' upcoming Zombie! Zombie! Zombie! will take everything you know about the match-3 genre and turn it on its undead head.

You'll still need to match three objects, admittedly, but in Zombie! Zombie! Zombie! you'll fight for your life by matching three zombies of the same kind and drawing a triangle between them.

For perfectly logical reasons, any zombies unfortunate enough to be stuck inside this triangle are blown up.

Polygon reports that Zombie! Zombie! Zombie! also mixes in tower defence mechanics by the having hordes (or, 'hordezzz') of zombies advance toward your base.

If you can't make matches fast enough to slow down the oncoming waves of ravenous dead, you can use power-ups to run them all over with a train. Or Tractor.

Or, heck, may you'll just flatten them with a nuclear warhead - the type of power-up used is dependent on the level, but from what we’ve seen in the trailer below they're all as comedic as they are violent.

We don't have a release date for Zombie! Zombie! Zombie! yet, but Big Fish Games expects to release it for mobile devices later this year.
