Wuthering Waves makes Kurofest 2025 a grand success with installations, live music, and major announcements
  • Kurofest 2025 welcomes over 10,000 fans
  • Celebrations were themed around Wuthering Waves and Punishing: Gray Raven
  • WW’s v2.6 will introduce new resonators and story chapters next week

This past weekend was big for Kuro Games as they pulled in more than 10,000 fans at the Canton Fair Complex in Guangzhou. That makes the first-ever Kurofest a perfect celebration of everything Wuthering Waves and Punishing: Gray Raven. Across two packed days, fans witnessed immersive installations, music performances, and showcases that brought the worlds of both ARPGs to life.

The Wuthering Waves area re-created some of the most iconic regions, from Jinzhou to the Black Shores. Complete with landmarks like Mt. Firmament and the Mortari Vault, it felt less like an exhibition and more like stepping straight into the world's setting. There was even a lot to experience, including boss challenges, fan art, and merchandise to grab.

It seems like offline gatherings like this are becoming the next big thing for developers, offering fans more than digital updates. Gamescom 2025 is also highlighting the return of large-scale events. This year alone, the studio has hosted Wuthering Waves celebrations in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, and Shanghai.

But the weekend wasn’t only about looking back; it was also about what’s next. During Kurofest, the studio pulled back the curtain on Version 2.6, which arrives August 28th. Two new resonators, Iuno and Augusta, join the roster with their Grecian-inspired designs, bringing fresh styles of combat alongside new Resonator convenes for characters like Carlotta and Ciaccona.
