World Fishing Championship, the first fishing game on WEMIX PLAY, is now available for Android

Wemade is breaking new ground (or water to be more precise) after officially launching its first competitive, blockchain fishing game on the WEMIX PLAY platform.

Having released a number of popular hardcore RPG and adventure titles like Riders of Icarus and the Mir series, World Fishing Championship marks a welcome change of pace for the Korean publisher, and offers players with more casual appetites the chance to experience a number of realistic 3D locations, and attempt to catch over 500 species of fish.

Besides the thrill of casting their lines in order to land a big catch, players can make use of real-time underwater cameras to help track down the fish they want, and increase their odds of catching it by using in-game currency to boost the skill and equipment of their character.

Competitive players will have plenty of opportunities to showcase their angling skills as well, with PvP matches and championship tournaments available. Several launch events are also currently underway that offer players who reach a certain level or use CORAL - World Fishing Championship’s game token - the chance to receive WEMIX via raffle. You’ll also find two other tokens available in the game and/or WEMIX PLAY, PEARL and TORNADO, which can be staked to obtain CORAL in case you’re having trouble reaching the amount you need.

One other noteworthy feature, for when you’re ready to put down your rod and call it a day, is the aquarium. This special area will allow you to see all of the fish you’ve collected come to life in a full, 360-degree aquarium that’s been developed with the latest VR and AR technology for a truly immersive experience.

You can find World Fishing Championship available to play right now for Android via the Google Play Store.
