Zynga, the social network game specialist behind FarmVille (a.k.a. Digital Crack), is bringing another of its successful creations to Android.

Words With Friends has been an enormous hit on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad (10 million downloads and rising), and it’ll be making its way over to the Google platform by the end of this month. It’s February, in case you needed reminding.

The game is a socially oriented take on Scrabble developed by Newtoy, which has recently been snapped up by Zynga.

The game’s key selling point is that it allows for asynchronous multiplayer competitive play. The Android version will contain all of the iOS version’s features, including in-game chat, push notifications, and the ability to play 20 games at the same time.

Which you might, if you’re some kind of immensely popular walking dictionary. Or Stephen Fry.

Words With Friends will be available initially as a free, ad-funded download. A paid ad-free version should make its way to the Android Market over the coming months.
