War Zone The Solider gets new game mode in latest update

After launching about a month ago, OAO India’s War Zone - The Soldier is receiving its first large update. With this update, players will be able to run and gun through a new endless survival mode.

War Zone - The Soldier is a 2D run n’ gun side-scrolling action game, similar to classics such as Metal Slug or Contra. In this game, however, there is a sense of some very light RPG mechanics, given that you can slowly unlock and level up new weapons and equipment over time. Alongside that, there is also a strategic skill tree that allows having special abilities that range everywhere from homing missiles to rocket launchers. The action-packed shooter mostly consisted of a linear path of levels for players to follow and beat, until this new update.

This update specifically brings with it a brand new survival game mode that is essentially endless. With an allotted amount of health and power-ups given prior to beginning, you will have to stretch the limited amount of resources you start with as long as you possibly can while the challenge ramps up and enemies get progressively harder. You’ll have to truly test your skills and use every single piece of equipment at your disposal to make it as far as you can, competing with other players to be at the top of the leaderboards.

War Zone - The Soldier has seen a large amount of success since launching last month, with players specifically enjoying the excellent 2D art style and the simple yet addicting gameplay loop. Given that it took only a month to see the new game mode and a pretty substantial content update, it’s safe to say that this is a game OAO India plans to keep supporting for the foreseeable future. If you’re looking for some classic 2D shooter action, you can find War Zone - The Soldier for free on the App Store. As of right now, there's been no word on a Google Play release.
