Announced at Tokyo Gameshow 2022, NetEase and SHUEISHA Games displayed a quite stunning trailer for their latest project, a strategy RPG entitled unVEIL The World. This hero-collection anime-style SRPG seeks to become your next favourite gacha, though details about the exact gameplay or story are quite light at the moment.

One of the key details revealed during the announcement was the fact that Posuka Demizu will be doing all of the character and environment art for this new game. Demizu is a manga illustrator in Japan and is most well-known for his work on the popular The Promised Neverland series. Nearly every panel in The Promised Neverland is unique in its own way, especially character design, so it will be interesting to see how his work transfers over to a video game.

As for the trailer, it displays what we can only assume is the protagonist of unVEIL The World as she overlooks a ruined and desolate wasteland. On the horizon, a giant tower structure surrounded by smaller other buildings stands tall into the skies, piercing the clouds. The music, which is gorgeous by the way, keys up as she sprints towards this destination and our view shifts upwards before a title drop.

So, needless to say, not a whole lot to discuss here in terms of depth. We still don’t know exactly what the combat system looks like, nor even a crumb of story details. All we know for sure is that this is likely to be a hit amongst gacha players given NetEase is behind it, and they seldom disappoint with games like Summoners War or Identity V. If they’re the publisher, you’re likely to see a pretty high-budget and great looking mobile game.

For now, this trailer is all we have to go off of. There’s not a Twitter account made for unVEIL The World yet, nor is there an official website. As more news drops, we’ll learn more and more about this temporarily mysterious little upcoming RPG, but for now, we’ll just have to wait.
