Trivaders only really clicks when you realise you've been playing it wrong. You don't score points from killing the titular triangle bad guys - you get them for grabbing the weapon-bearing blue meteors.
In that sense at least the game is a close cousin of Super Crate Box. You're desperately trying to stay alive, avoiding fire, and constantly getting nerfed by picking up weaker guns.
The game looks good, and it plays pretty smoothly, but it doesn't quite have the diamond-edged compulsion loop of its inspiration.
It's a solid shooter, and it'll keep you entertained for a while, but it doesn't offer more than that.
