Trinity Seven - Phantasm Library and Seventh Sol, the mobile RPG adaptation of the titular anime series, is due to shut down in the coming months

After a 4-year-long service, the mobile RPG adaptation of the popular anime series Trinity Seven, Phantasm Library and Seventh Sol, will be ending service come June 13th. This shutdown comes with the expected ending of in-game currency purchased with real money as well as the general winding down of new content and events too.

Trinity Seven was a pretty big anime when it was released way back when, and saw a steady fanbase that still exists to this day. So, when a mobile game under the title Phantasm Library and Seventh Sol was announced, it seemed like a no-brainer when it came to how successful the game would be.

And it was indeed fairly successful! While not quite contending with big names like Genshin Impact or Arknights, this gacha turn-based RPG featured some decent combat mechanics alongside a story mode that offered up a lot of fanservice for fans of the anime series.

Unfortunately, all things must come to an end, and Phantasm Library is no different. The developers announced the shutdown with an in-game notice and explained that the game would simply be too difficult to maintain for them while producing satisfying content, so a shutdown was deemed necessary.

Still, 4 years is a pretty good span for a mobile game. As we’ve seen quite recently, the market can be brutal, especially for gacha RPG games, so it’s pleasant to see one succeed even moderately nowadays.

Hopefully given the success of the anime series, we’ll see another mobile spinoff make its way to our devices in the near future. For now, however, Trinity Seven fans can still take part in Phantasm Library and Seventh Sol before it closes its doors for good by downloading the game for free at either of the links below this article.
