Tower Rush, the aptly-named PvP tower defence fest, adds competitive leagues and social goodies in its summer update

Tower Rush burst onto the mobile strategy scene last year with a fresh, fast-paced take on tower defence, combining tactical base-building with brisk real-time PvP battles. Its short but satisfying matches quickly made it a compelling option for TD fans.

It was a quintessential addition to its genre but Solar Forge Games, the studio behind the real-time hit, aren’t done yet. They’ve just pushed out the June 2026 update and it comes with stacks of new features that are sure to take Tower Rush to lofty new heights.

Out-style your rivals

For the uninitiated, Tower Rush doesn’t reinvent the tower defence wheel but adds its own fantasy-themed twist to it, setting the action in a world of warring anthropomorphic animals. Against this backdrop, players share a real-time battlefield during frantic PvP skirmishes as they vie to reach the mystical Source Tree and become the heir to a lost kingdom.

It’s a speedy, yet tactical, affair. One minute you’re building defensive structures to impede opposing armies, the next you’ll see an opportunity to go on the attack and quickly erect support towers to boost the strength of your troops or launch a devastating spell.

Following the June update, you can do all of these things in style as social content is one of its headline features. Thanks to the new animated emotes, which let players compliment or diss their rivals, you can now serve up victory with a side-helping of trash talk.

Every account comes loaded with a starter set of emotes and more can be earned and purchased. In addition to these, Tower Rush fans with an eye for fashion can dip into a growing collection of expressive character skins to take to the battlefield in jazzed-up mode.

Heightened competition

If you’ve played Tower Rush to death, completed the campaign and reached the end of banner road, the June update has dropped just in the nick of time. 

Alongside the social features, Banner Road Competitive Leagues adds an extra storey to the tower and picks up where the campaign left off. Players can battle through the ranks to continue their ascent to glory in competitive online leagues where the level of challenge is cranked up to 11, but so too is the amount of rewards on offer.

These include glorious badges which denote your rank and interactions with other players both in and out of battle, so it’s an all-new way to really boast about your accomplishments.
