Codemonkie shining the shoes of Touch Dance Revolving

Rhythm-action to your own beat

Codemonkie shining the shoes of Touch Dance Revolving

As anyone who has seen the Pocket Gamer massive on the dancefloor knows, if this handheld entertainment lark goes wrong, you'll find us on Britain's Got Talent.

In which case Codemonkie's Touch Dance Revolving sounds like the sort of game we'd get along famously with.

For one thing, it lets you use any music that's on your iPhone or iPod touch (assuming you're running OS 3.0 of course).

It then does some clever beat analysis of the music, which is combined with the gameplay, which revolves around a virtual disco dance floor of 120 touch sensitive tiles.

On this, you have to follow the suggested moves in the typical rhythm-action stylee using various multi-touch actions and 15 unique moves that create an unlimited combination of dance steps.

Pulling off such moves will unlock new dance floor effects as well as bonus multipliers to boost your high score.

You can get some idea how it works in the following video.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of the game though is its promised Facebook integration, which as well as the usual feed publishing in terms of your progress and challenging friends, enables you to upload the covers of the music you play in the game to your photos.

Hardly Web 4.0, but it could be a neat social media extra.

Touch Dance Revolving is due out sometime in December, priced $1.99, €1.59 or £1.19.
