European Football Stars kick off in Top Trumps Collection for iPhone

Despite being a work of modern technical wizardry, the iPhone has proved to be a happy hunting ground for nostalgia buffs.
One such attraction for those of a 'certain' age is Connect2Media’s Top Trumps, which today netted a well overdue European Football Stars deck.
Top Trumps, for those of you not of a certain age (i.e. young), is a card game in which players carefully select a statistical value from a range of categories on their card and compare them with their opponent's. You can guess the rest.
The Messi-ahSo, if you need to put to bed that Messi is miles better than Ronaldo, you need only check out their stats here (unfortunately for CR7, there is no ‘playacting’ stat).
The Top Trumps Collection app itself if free, and comes with the Dinosaur Pack pre-installed. To download any of the other decks, including a 007 Best of Bond pack and a Gumball 3000 set, you’ll have to fork out £1.49 / $1.99 / €1.59.
The new European Football Stars collection costs a slightly less ball-busting 69p / 99c / €0.79, but, rather niftily, can be unlocked by bumping your iPhone against a buddy's. So long as he / she owns a copy of Top Trumps Collection, mind.
Look out for a special App Store Legends pack in the not-too-distant future, too, selected in conjunction with Pocket Gamer and OpenFeint.
