Last week, The Pixel Hunt, which is the studio behind hard hitters like Bury Me and My Love, announced that their critically acclaimed 3D visual novel The Wreck will be landing on mobile in a few days. The title launched on PC and console earlier this year, and now Android and iOS users can experience this gut-wrenching tale too as The Wreck has finally released on smartphones.

The Wreck combines many themes such as those of sisterhood, motherhood, grief, and survival, each pulling on a different heartstring. Players step into the shoes of Junon, a failed screenwriter who’s about to experience the most important day of her life.

As they navigate through this pivotal moment, players will relive the past, which will subsequently change decisions in the present, ultimately deciding how Junon’s story ends. She has an endless list of perils in her path with the most important one being the fact that her mother is in the hospital in critical condition.

Since Junon is pretty much the entire focus of the game, it doesn’t feature a massive cast. But this also allows every member to shine as Junon interacts with them over the past, present, and future. Players will be able to form personal connections with everyone around them as they chronicle the events of Junon’s life.

The Wreck is a journey about catharsis, grief, trauma, and parental relations. It is an emotional ride and may feel far too relatable at times. Junon’s life will slowly unravel as players progress through the game, revealing the circumstances of how she got where she is. In the end, she’ll either embrace her future or end in a wreck.

If you're ready to go on this journey, download The Wreck using your preferred link below. It is free to download, but unlocking the entire game requires an in-app purchase. Playtime is around five hours, with the first one available for free.
