You're familiar with Zombies, Run!, right?

For those of you who aren't, it's a pretty innovative exercise application in which its creator combines running with an interactive audio adventure full of motivational missions.

Anyway. Zombies, Run! developer Six to Start is working on a brand-new mobile title called The Walk, a neo-noir thriller-infused exercise game.

Tired legs

After installing this game / app, you will be encouraged to walk all the way to Scotland (not literally, mind).

You see, in The Walk's modern conspiracy story - penned by author Naomi Alderman - a group of terrorists blow up the station at which you're waiting for a train to Edinburgh. They're after the mysterious parcel you're transporting to Scotland, you see.

With all electronic devices rendered useless after the terrorist cell's EMP attack, you are forced to walk the remaining distance to Edinburgh.

Along the way, you'll have to avoid the police and stay one step ahead of the aforementioned terrorist group.

Walk this way

The Walk is being created in collaboration with the UK's National Health Service, and is part of a larger initiative to encourage people to walk on a regular basis.

"We're trying to get people to walk throughout the day, that's why we're doing this with the NHS," Adrian Hon, Six to Start's co-founder, told website Polygon.

"It's going to be the best pedometer you've ever had but it's also got a game built into it. So you're kind of playing all the time whenever you have your phone with you."

The Walk will be released on "mobile devices" later this year.
