TGS 2015: Square Enix's new turn-based RPG for PS Vita involves obliterating penguins

I can understand why lots of RPGs start you off killing rats. Rats spread disease and are considered vermin. Killing rats is acceptable.

But penguins? Please, Square Enix, what are you doing?

As you might guess, in Square Enix's new turn-based RPG, you kill penguins. In fact, no, you obliterate them.

Watch the trailer above and you'll see a swordsman slash through a cute penguin. The attack sends burning rays of light across the ground to form a cross shape. Then it explodes.

Alright, I think the penguin is dead, guy.

Anyway, this game is called Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna or, when translated, The Sorrow of Sacrifice and Snow.

It's heading to PS4 and PS Vita in Japan in early 2016.
