The Pinball Wizard: Tips to have you making magic on the flippers

The Pinball Wizard is one of the wackiest pinball games you'll ever play. It's essentially like an RPG, dungeon crawler and pinball all put together and morphed into something that's a whole lot of fun. You take on the role of a young wizard whose goal is to, rather simply, reach the top of a tower.
You're trying to reach the top to fulfil your destiny as a grand wizard. Many have attempted to climb the towers, but all have failed. Here's your chance, as an apprentice, to show the world what you're really made of, through the power of pinball.
So basically, you launch your wizard into a room, which plays like a pinball machine and you, the wizard, are the ball. So yes, our hero will get smacked about quite a bit by the flippers. You will be able to take out enemies and collect items while you're hitting the wizard. We give you some tips to help you with your dungeon-crawling pinball adventure.
Monitor your health
You may not realize it but there is a health bar on the top of the screen. You slowly lose health if you let the wizard apprentice run past the flippers. So, this is just a reminder to watch it, because we know how easy it can be to let a ball (or a wizard) get past our flippers.
If this happens a few times, that it's game over. However, the good thing is that if you complete a room, you can replenish your health. This is important because you're going to need all of the health you can get. You'll need to go through 21 different rooms before reaching the boss battle.
So just stay healthy in each level and you'll be gravy. I know in some games, you need to go straight through without healing but you don't need to worry about that here. So, just survive the levels, and oh, make sure to take out any monsters in your way because they can deal some damage.
Watch out for obstacles
Well, these are essentially enemies, but in some ways, they play like obstacles. Although most enemies can be killed, there are others that are extremely dangerous. For example, there are these annoying moving shells that have spikes on them.
These will carve you up if you aren't careful. Same with anything else that isn't killable. And even when an enemy can be defeated, they can still trickle away at your health. So just be cautious about where you aim your wizard.
Remember, this is still pinball so the ball (wizard) has a mind of its own once you pull that trigger. You choose the direction of your release which is nice. This a good way to give you a bit of strategy about where to launch. On top of that, this won't force you into a bad situation.
Unlock new skills
What's a good dungeon crawler without some unique skills and abilities? Just because this is a pinball game, doesn't mean you can't grab some sweet skills that can help you battle through each room. When you play, you'll earn rewards like coins and XP to help level you up.
As you continue your ascent, you'll gradually get some new abilities. It could be something that boosts your speed or give you an advantage when fighting foes. Basically, just keep being awesome and you'll level up. Then, you reap the benefits that you deserve.
And although the wizard is essentially out of your control once you launch him, you will be able to use controls to make your abilities happen. So there is some sense of control after all; how about that? So get ready to start mashing those thumbs on that iPhone screen when you unlock your new shiny powers.
