The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is an upcoming FMV mystery that delves into lovecraftian horror
Are those gills?
The titular Doctor Dekker is dead. Six patients, each with their own secrets and otherworldly issues, are suspected as potential murderers. As a therapist, you must interview these individuals, typing in queries to ask and unlock responses for more clues.
Other patients will act as "side quests", offering additional stories and bizarre conditions to explore. The final game is expected to feature more than 10 patients and around 1,629 video clips. (To put that in perspective, Her Story had 271 clips.)
Doctor Dekker promises to be more complex than just asking questions. Your own sanity is at stake, so asking about certain details like a patient's...gills could reveal new information at the risk of damaging your mental health.
The murderer will be randomized each playthrough, so you won't be able to simply memorize the correct trick to solving the mystery. Autopsy reports, the doctor's diary, and other evidence outside of interviews will help you discover the truth.
The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is expected to release in 2017, first on Steam, then on mobile devices. You can learn more about the game here.
