Bronze Award-winning building adventure Terraria is now available on Google Play
Monster buildings
If you're an Android gamer who's been scowling for the past few weeks at your iOS-powered friends as they built things and went on adventures in side-scrolling craft-'em-up Terraria, it's time to turn that frown upside down.
That's because the Bronze Award-winning indie smash has finally surfaced on the Google Play Store.
Best of all, it won't cost you a thing to pick it up and give it a try.
Terraria is like a more focused 2D version of Minecraft. You hack up the world, build stuff, and then go on adventures to slay monsters and giant bulbous floating eyes. Just like real life.
There are loads of crafting recipes to find, more than 70 monster types to slay, and hours of fun to be had tramping around the randomly generated worlds.
There's even an exclusive Android pet, if you care about that sort of thing.
Like in the iOS version, there's no multiplayer here. There is, however, Google Play games services integration, so you can tell people on your Google+ profile about things you've done. I'm sure they're interested.
At review, we said that Terraria's "mix of creative crafting and endless exploration will keep you rapt for weeks".
You can grab the game from the Google Play Store right now for nothing at all. If you want the full experience, you'll have to pay for the full version via an IAP.
