Sword of Convallaria celebrates its first anniversary with a major new update

It may have been a while since Sword of Convallaria graced our headlines, but rest assured that this hit mix of JRPG turn-based strategy and gorgeous pixel art hasn't gone anywhere. In fact, it's been going from strength to strength as the latest update exemplifies, with a suite of new additions for Sword of Convallaria's first anniversary!

The biggest addition, of course, is the dramatic finale to the Kingdom of Iria Storyline. Closing off a narrative arc that's defined the first year of the Sword of Convallaria (over 120 hours, so they tell us), this chapter brings the story to a roaring climax and sets up what's coming next for the world of Convallaria.

Fortunately, you won't be going into this final battle alone. The new spotlight is on Inanna of Convallaria. This banner summer features a snazzy new design and plenty of utility on the battlefield. She's leading the anniversary summoning events alongside a guaranteed Legendary banner to help you nab these unowned high-tier characters.

But it's not just new stories and characters! The new mode, The Pioneering Odyssey, adds a dual-part challenge that will test both your strategic team-building while also unlock power Ascension talents. Expedition mode, meanwhile, lets you form exploration squads and venture into the Spiral, with Origin Gems to exchange for rare characters and weapons.

Naturally, XD Games is also eager to lasso the community with some anniversary gifts, too. You'll be able to nab 20 free summons just for logging in, alongside a daily 10-pull reward until August 7th. There's plenty of other sign-in events to keep an eye out for, while the Annual Review will let you reflect on your journey and earn even more rewards until August 28th.
