Sticky Bees sequel hopes to rake in the honey on Kickstarter for an iOS and Android launch

In terms of cute, animal-based games on the App Store, it's hard not to like the quirky simplicity of Sticky Bees.

The Pocket Game Bronze Award-winner plays like a reverse version of Centipede, and has you lead a parade of flying bugs through 50 - yes, 50 - waves of enemies per level.

As strange and singular as the idea behind Sticky Bees is, it appears that developer Fourfire wasn't quite done with the project as it turned to Kickstarter recently to fund a slide-and-smash sequel, Sticky Bees Unleashed.

Bee kind

Fourfire's famous founder Matt Cox worked as the lead designer for Scribblenauts before unleashing Sticky Bees on the App Store. After turning away from game design to work on personal projects, he's returned to pitch for the sequel.

Sticky Bees Unleashed looks to follow the same insect aesthetic as the original Sticky Bees, but it has become something of an endless runner. Enemies will fly at you from the right side of the screen at increasing speeds and your goal is to smash as many of them as possible with quick swipes across your screen.

Currently, Sticky Bees Unleashed has raised $2,000 of its modest $29,000 budget and has 24 days left on its Kickstarter campaign.
