And so, with the immense success of Crossy Road, we enter the age of the cute-animal-crossing-traffic game. Or CACT, as it will never be known.
Splish Splash Pong is one of the latest, and it's pretty fun, in a severely limited kind of a way.
Your little cuboid duck swims laps of a pond, bouncing back and forth between two springy barriers, collecting a coin each time it does so. Along the way it crosses several dangerous shark-filled traffic lanes.
By tapping the screen, you can send ducky back the way it came, preserving its life for a few more precious seconds.
That's it, really. Rack up the score, collect coins, spend them on new avatars, rinse and repeat.
It's not a patch on Crossy Road, of course. It has none of the charm, attention to detail, or variety. It's also not very Pong-like, with its boring old static paddles.
But if you've got a hunger for CACT (I'm warming to it), it'll do.
