What are these colourful, popping pixels? Ah yes, it's the latest Happymagenta game, Splish Splash Pong. I thought I recognised that art style.

The next game from the Cube Koala and Fist of Fury creator is a riff on the classic arcade game Pong that adds sharks and rubber toys to the mix.

Starting with a rubber duckie, you just tap the screen to change its direction as it bounces back and forth between two bouncy buoys.

You do this as if you don't the duckie will probably get eaten by a shark. Loads of them swim across the screen at different speeds and sizes. It's very tricky to avoid them all.

Still, your goal is to collect as many coins as possible so you must persist. The coins appear at each bouncy buoy, one at a time. So you have to brave this traffic of sharks if you want to get a high score.

But if chasing high scores isn't compelling enough then you might be encouraged to collect coins to purchase more rubber animals. This is a post-Crossy Road game, after all.

There's a cat, a snail, a crab, a koala, a puffer fish, and many more. You can unlock them with in-game coins or you can get them through IAPs.

The exception is the cat, which you can get for linking the game's Facebook page - it's a small price to pay for an adorable feline, I guess.

If you want to give it a go you can download Splish Splash Pong for free on the App Store right now.
