Last week, the creators of the popular roguelike Pirate Outlaws, Fabled Game Studios, announced its latest project, Spiritle, a turn-based strategy digital board game. It is set to launch in the next few months on PC and mobile. We’d only seen a trailer until now but the developers have finally unveiled the title’s first gameplay trailer alongside a look at one of the characters.

Spiritle is a four-play game where each player takes control of one of the four elements. The first clip showcases Sionnach, the Valiant Fighter. He is a fox and represents the spirit of nature. In terms of gameplay, he is an easier spirit to master and has two skill slots to fill from six available abilities.

Players must choose from one of three skills in each slot, in order to create a combo that can wreak havoc on the board. For example, Flair and Ruse are capable of revealing tiles and pairing lands, which can be followed up by Stance Pose, or Seeding and Slash to deal damage.

The gameplay trailer, on the other hand, gives players a good look at the action waiting for them. Spiritle’s goal is to beat the other spirits and regain your place in the World Tree. The game begins with a Soul falling from the tree, which then reincarnates in the form of an animal that is devoted to a particular element.

Each character has unique abilities that must be used efficiently to defeat the opponents. As players move along the board, they will uncover new lands. If any two same ones are coupled, players can launch an attack on their foes. Like most strategy games, it is quite easy to understand, but mastering it will prove to be a task.

As of now, you can enjoy the new trailers embedded in this article while we wait for a release date announcement. To stay up to date on all the latest developments, keep checking Spiritle’s Facebook page.
