Spin spin and spin!

Spin Rhythm XD lets you live out your DJing fantasies with fast-paced deck-spinning mechanics
  • Crunchyroll Game Vault is expanding with the exclusive Spin Rhythm XD
  • Spin your decks rather than tapping, with over 70+ indie hit tracks
  • Jam out with four other players locally, or hook up your real-life midi deck to play!

Of all the subscription gaming services on mobile, Crunchyroll Game Vault is quickly proving to be one of the most eclectic and fun out there. And their latest upcoming release is no exception. Spin Rhythm XD is one of the most innovative rhythm puzzlers to have passed across my desk in a while!

It should be obvious what the core conceit of Spin Rhythm XD is at a glance. Rather than tapping buttons in time with the beat, you spin a rotating desk like a real DJ. And if you're lucky enough to have a midi DJ turntable, you'll even be able to hook it up to your mobile and play via the physical controller.

The Crunchyroll Game Vault game, coming later this year, is also the result of an exclusive partnership. So if you want to play through 70+ hit indie tracks, team up in local co-op with four other players and experience extreme rhythm action, you'll need to nab yourself a subscription!

Spinning the decks

Spin Rhythm XD is definitely a mouthful of a name, but the gameplay is surprisingly straightforward. Being a bit of a rhythm connoisseur (but by no means an expert), I can definitely see the appeal in spinning rather than tapping as you might in something like the sadly now-redundant Beatstar.

And the ability to actually use a physical midi turntable stands out to me, especially. The fact that this would appeal to the true enthusiasts of electronic music gives me a lot of confidence that Super Spin Digital will offer true rhythm heaven for casuals and hardcore players alike.

Staying Ahead of the Game on top releases like Spin Rhythm XD can seem to be an impossible task. But if you need the wheat sorting from the chaff, check in on our feature of the same name as Catherine digs into Airship Go!
