Smite Blitz opens for pre-register on App Store and Google Play

Hi-Rez Studios has announced Smite Blitz, a spin-off of their popular MOBA Smite and has also opened it up for pre-registering. Smite Blitz will take the form of a tactical RPG where you can assemble a team of Gods from a roster of 60 to take on an adventure mode as well as other players.

That's right, for those of you that aren't familiar with Smite, it's a MOBA where the heroes you play as are all based on Gods, Goddess or mythical creatures from a variety of different cultures. Thor, Horus and Jing Wei are just a handful of deities on offer.

The story mode will start in Egypt where the God's worshippers are being attacked by evil forces. You'll be tasked with defeating these enemies in wave-based skirmishes alongside defending towers and capturing fugitives. This will be achieved by setting up a God formation that can be enhanced by the sidekick system, though there are no details on what this is at present.

Smite Blitz will feature numerous PVP online game modes such as head-to-head battles in Duels alongside a few PVE modes. One of these PVE modes will essentially be raids. You'll be able to team up with other players across the globe to fight powerful bosses. Defeating these bosses will earn you loot that can be used to make your pantheon of Gods more powerful.

If you choose to pre-register then there a few tiered bonuses on offer ranging from gems to spend in-game at the lowest goal to a free God at 1 million sign-ups. The divine being you can potentially unlock from this is the Mayan God Chaac who makes use of a lightning infused axe in Smite.

If a new mobile spin on Smite interests you then you can pre-register on the App Store and Google Play. This may particularly appeal to you if you're an avid Smite player, as linking your Blitz account will unlock exclusives bonuses in Smite.
