Shankstars, Topgolf's new whacky golf adventure, is out now on iOS

Topgolf, a sports entertainment company focussing on well, golf, has announced the release of its newest mobile game. It's called Shankstars and promises to be a fun and unique adventure through nine holes. The game has been built to make golf more accessible to more people regardless of their age and inclination to the sport.

Shankstars will feature a roster of diverse characters who will play in some of the most whacky and imaginative golf courses. Players will visit different worlds filled with courses that have weird hazards as they embark on their crazy golfing journey.

It all begins with creating the perfect squad. As players progress through the game, they will unlock numerous characters which they must cherry-pick in order to create the most formidable team. Each character has its own strengths and weaknesses alongside unique special moves. Using these attributes, players must build a group of individuals that can ace any course.

Speaking about the game’s design, Ashley Groth, Topgolf Media Director of Marketing, said: "We designed this game to be something different than what you've seen before. Play is at the center of our experience, and the launch of Shankstars continues our commitment to bring fun and a new personality to the game of golf."

Some of the quirky characters that players can expect include a scouring pirate, a terrifying T-rex skeleton, and even an astronaut that goes against gravity. In the beginning, it may seem like a rag-tag group of random characters, but they will eventually become the pro golfers they are meant to be.

Shankstars primarily features solo play with an exciting single-player campaign that explores an immersive golf journey. But it also encourages players who like a challenge with head-to-head matches in real-time against other players, as they fight for a position on the global leaderboard.

Currently, iOS users can download Shankstars for free on the App Store. The game will eventually launch on the Play Store too.
