If you're looking for a new point-and-click adventure this coming weekend, then you're in luck. Because longtime puzzle developer Rusty Lake have finally released their long-awaited new game, Servant of the Lake, with plenty more fiendish problems to solve and even more bizarre story to dive into!
Servant of the Lake once more follows the enigmatic Vanderboom family in their titular lakeside estate. You play as a newly minted servant whose job is to perform all your various duties and aid the members of the family, all while slowly seeing the darker side of the Vanderboom clan reveal itself.

Rusty Lake is a developer which doesn't seek to reinvent the wheel, but simply offer a competent and well-made point-and-click puzzler for you to enjoy. And with both a full voice cast and plenty of intrigue, as well as more naturally integrated puzzles into your daily chores, I can see this being quite engaging for both longtime players and newcomers.About the only concern I would have is how much it does to explain the history of the Vanderboom family and give context to their strange goings-on. But given that Servant of the Lake seems to be set up as a pseudo-prequel to the rest of the series, it may well be a worthwhile jumping-on point.
