Text adventure Serania – Path of the Scion is out now on iOS and Android

FableTrees Productions has released Serania – Path of the Scion on iOS and Android.

Serania is a text adventure role-playing game that takes place in a Nordic fantasy world. You play as a villager who must escape the king’s armies who are hunting them, and will uncover aspects of your family history in order to understand what is going on.

As a text adventure, obviously there’s a lot of reading. If that sounds overwhelming to you, FableTree has made the game a bit more accessible by including aspects that ensure you’re not reading long pages of text all at once, even with over 70,000 words of content to sift through.

That way, those who have difficulties with reading or are intimidated by games with lots of text may even be able to play this without worrying too much. And despite being a paid title to experience the whole story, the first quarter of the game is free for anyone to try.

“Sometimes you just can let go of an idea. Text-based games do not have to be tedious to play,” says Peter Ravnholt, the mind behind Serania and sole developer at FableTrees Productions. “There is much innovation happening in this genre, and here is my take on how to get people immersed in reading and having fun. I feel that I'm just getting started here, and hope to bring more engaging, story-driven games to the players.”

You can play Serania – Path of the Scion by downloading it from the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android today. As we mentioned earlier, the first part of the game is free for anyone to trial, but you’ll have to unlock the rest of the story for the price of $3.99.
