Famitsu confirms Sega leak

Valkyria Chronicles 3 officially announced for PSP

This week’s edition of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu has confirmed what many suspected: Sega is working on a third Valkyria Chronicles game.

Much to fans of the PS3 original's disapointment, the new title will follow in Valkyria Chronicles 2’s footsteps as a PSP title.

Details are few at the moment, but what we do know is that the game retains the 1930s setting of previous instalments, and that the storyline will follow a squad of rogue soldiers called the “Nameless”. Ironically, their names are Kurt, Imuka, and Reira, a descendant of the Valkyria.

Expect the usual blend of RPG elements, military strategy, and distinctly Japanese teen angst.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 is slated for January 27th in Japan. There's no word on a western release date yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as more news breaks.
