RuneScape Leagues II lets you unlock Gielinor your own way
Every route closes another door
- Unlock regions by completing tasks
- Choose powerful Order, Balance or Chaos Blessings
- Free-to-play League Worlds now available
I don’t think anyone should trust a god who calls himself Balance. There's always a scale tipping somewhere behind that title, and in RuneScape's case it's Guthix, back to run the show for Leagues II: Equilibrium.
Leagues is Jagex's seasonal mode, and this is its second outing. It is basically a fresh start on Gielinor with faster experience gains, new powers to unlock, and a leaderboard to climb before the season ends. It's live now, running until September 21st.
What's different this time is the map. Rather than handing you the whole of Gielinor from the off, Equilibrium locks it up front, and you unlock new regions, bosses and skilling spots by completing tasks. Go one way and you close off another, which means the path you take actually shapes what powers you end up with.
Combat brings Blessings this time round, split across Order, Balance and Chaos. Commit to one and you'll eventually land a God Tier Blessing, which Jagex is billing as some of the strongest combat effects the MMORPG’s had.

Relics are back too, and there are a few that deserve mentioning. Endless Harvest automates your banking so gathering never stops. Survivalist stretches your resources further. Golden Touch turns Agility and Thieving into proper income. Stack those against the locked map and no two runs are likely to look the same, which is the whole point of a Leagues season existing at all.
The bit I'm actually glad about is the new Free-to-Play League Worlds. Leagues has historically asked a fair bit of new arrivals just to get going, so opening a route in from day one, without a membership wall is a welcome change.
