Romancing SaGa - Minstrel Song- Remastered, a remaster of the very first entry into the SaGa series, finally receives a nearby release date

The upcoming remaster of the very first entry into the long-running JRPG SaGa series, Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song, has finally got a release date. Due out on December 1st on all consoles and PC but most importantly of all, mobile, this classic JRPG experience will allow you to finally see where this expansive franchise first began.

Since 1989 with the release of The Final Fantasy Legend, which is widely regarded as the true basis for the series, the SaGa franchise has seen over 17 releases. All of these games have a unique take on the typical JRPG formula, with you typically experiencing a nonlinear story based on which characters you choose to play in what order. They usually focus a lot more on side stories and world-building than a singular save-the-world-type plot.

Given that Minstrel Song was originally released way back then, playing through it nowadays is a bit of a nightmare. Modern JRPGs have a lot of features we take for granted and are usually quite streamlined, but this was back when you couldn’t move two feet without a random encounter and barely had any guidance on where to go, which could both lead to a really frustrating experience if you’re more accustomed to the nature of JRPGs today.

So, we’re quite lucky to be receiving a modern remaster of this one - as the story and world-building as well as the characters in Minstrel Song are phenomenal - and now we’ll have a much more enjoyable way to experience it when the game finally launches on December 1st.

If you’re looking to get a head start and want to download this remaster as soon as it launches, you can currently pre-register for it at either of the links below this article!
