Rocket League Sideswipe Season 3 out today

Rocket League Sideswipe Season 3 out today

Today, Psyonix announced that its mobile adaptation of the hit competitive part racing part sports title Rocket League, Sideswipe, has launched its new season. Included in this new season is an abundance of content including a new arena, a unique game mode, and the much-requested spectator mode.

Sideswipe has seen a not-unexpected amount of success given Rocket League’s still booming popularity on the console end of things, and with all of the new content courtesy of season 3, it’s only getting better. The big addition this time around is the Threes limited-time mode, which if you couldn’t guess by the name, allows 3v3 matches. This is different from the typical 2v2 nature of Sideswipe, and has also been a heavily requested mode in the community, so many players will be glad to hear this will be included, even if only for a limited time.

Alongside the new game mode, we’ve also got the addition of a spectator mode, another requested feature amongst players, this will of course allow you to watch matches in progress. These can be your friends' matches or strangers if you’re looking to pick up on new strategies and study others' gameplay. The new Rocket Pass will also launch along with the new season - and much like the first two, be free - allowing players to unlock some special new skins, tires, car models.

Two things that you'll most likely find useful:

We're still waiting on official patch notes as this was something of a surprise release, but as of right now, Sideswipe’s season 3 does launch today with all of these new additions, so there’s no better time to get competitive and dig your teeth into one of the most rewarding experiences available on mobile. If you’re interested, you can check it out for free on both Google Play and the App Store.
