In the fall of 2017, the spiritual successor to the legendary 90s combat racing game Road Rash - which was titled Road Redemption - launched onto PC and consoles about a year later. Now, Road Rash is finally being ported to mobile devices courtesy of Pixel Dash Studios and EQ-Games. This violent motorcycle racing simulator sees you competing across various danger-laden tracks as you kick, bash, and slam into your opponents in an effort to defeat them all.

The combat racing genre has remained pretty popular throughout the years - with titles like Burnout and Twisted Metal being the prime examples - but few capture the joy of Road Rash. Perhaps it’s just because the game is entirely based around motorcycle racing as opposed to bashing cars against one another, or maybe it’s the visceral nature of the actual full-contact combat as you swing bats at your opponents off the back of a Harley. Something about it just clicks differently than the car combat-based genre contemporaries.

Regardless, this genre itself has remained pretty untapped on mobile devices, with most of those popular series being exclusive to consoles or PC - until now! Road Redemption sees you mostly doing the same thing as you would in Road Rash. You'll be mounting up on your motorcycle of choice and picking up weapons as you race across the track and slam your opponents off the road in an effort to be number one across the finish line - either due to speed or due to the rest of your competition exploding.

There’s a degree of customization as well, between being able to adorn your player character in whatever punk clothing you want to rock as well as being able to colour up your bike, stick some stickers on it, change tires, adjust headlights, and more. This allows you to express yourself in a variety of ways so your opponents know who just bashed their head in with a baseball bat two laps ago and remember you forever.

While no official release date has been dropped yet, Road Redemption is set to come out soon onto both iOS and Android. If you’d like to stay up-to-date with the release date the second it does get announced, you can stay tuned to the official website for updates!
