Thanks to EA, Dragon’s Lair LLC, and Revolutionary Concepts we can all get a dose of '80s nostalgia on our iPhones with ports of classic laserdisc games like Dragon’s Lair, Space Ace, and Cobra Command.

And now, Revolutionary Concepts has announced that it is bringing the uber popular Japanese cab Road Blaster to iPhone and iPad next month.

Founder and CEO of Revolutionary Concepts Wayne Whatford describes these games as “looking more like a Saturday morning cartoon than you'd dared imagine was possible.”

Road Blaster never saw much of a release outside Japan, other than a heavily compressed version for SegaCD, but it's still risen to the rank of cult classic.

The game sits you behind the wheel in a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic world as you race across the landscape looking for revenge after the brutal murder of your wife.

Now the game is heading to iPhone (complete with high res graphics for iPhone 4), iPod touch, and iPad, and has been coded from the ground up with some completely new improved visuals and gameplay modes that take advantage of the device’s strengths.

The game features completely remastered video clips, running at 60 frames per second and rendered to the iPhone and iPad resolutions. It’s also got worldwide leaderboards, will feature Game Center support, and is packed to bursting with special features and unlockable bonuses.

Road Blaster will hit iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad next month.
