Almost without fail, Chillingo releases a few new titles on iOS each week, but Rinth Island looks like it could be one of the publisher's strongest for a long while.

Developed by Buzz Monkey, Rinth Island is a 2.5D (that is to say, a 3D game played on a 2D plane) that sees you pushing blocks, collecting gems, and smashing down barriers on over 60 circular-shaped islands.

It really is "over 60" levels, too, for the game comes with a level editor that lets you build up your own island conundrums and share with other players.

Each level can be played in four different modes, catering for speedruns as well as more efficient movement. The graphics look rather splendid, too, as you can tell from the screenshot gallery above.

Rinth Island is out now in New Zealand, so it should be smashing its way onto the US and UK App Stores from midnight tonight, priced 69p / 99c.
