Game of steampunk web TV series Riese is coming to iPhone
Taking virtual card game approach

Every cult TV series needs its tie-in game, and Riese - a dystopian world where the heroine must avoid The Sect's assassins to find out why her family was slaughtered - is no different.
Aside from the iPhone game however, which has been announced by Canadian studio Genius Factor Games, Riese is a little different in that it's a web TV series, available on the likes of YouTube and Koldcast TV.
The first episode went live on November 2, and the first series will continual to expand weekly until the end of January 2010.
However, despite its all-action approach, which sees the cape-wearing Riese and her trusty wolf companion, making their way through the wartorn kingdom of Eleysia, hunted all the while by the hardcore religious nutters of The Sect, the iPhone app will be a virtual card game.
The reason given is so players can use alternative media to enhance the existing story.
"Riese represents a new, viable way to digitally distribute blockbuster-quality storytelling," said Ted Nugent, Genius Factor president and founder.
"Not only is it in line with exploring our own goals for the digital distribution of games and entertainment, but the compelling story, audio and visuals make for an excellent series that keeps you wanting more."
You can check out more information about Riese via its website, or check out the first episodes via YouTube.
The iPhone and iPod touch title is due out in early 2010.
