Now, I won't deny being a Brit that we have what I'd dub a contentious relationship with historical preservation. Fortunately, there are plenty of places around the world taking a slightly less, let's call it grabby approach to history. And it's their work that the upcoming 3D restoration puzzler sim, Restoria, helps to honour.

Restoria sees you take on the role of, surprise, a historical preservation expert. It's described as being influenced by Power Wash Simulator, and you can definitely see why. You're handed a dirty, ruined artefact and have to make use of your own precision and specialised tools to restore it to a state worthy of display in a museum.

It belongs in a museum!

Well, so far so good, and a great upcoming release to keep your eye on, right? Well, funnily enough you could be playing it a lot sooner than expected! Because Restoria is releasing an exclusive free prologue on itch.io and the iOS App Store as of today, to coincide with Indonesia's National Games Day.

This prologue will not only let you get to grips with the gameplay, but it will also introduce you to player character Nova and how her own story intertwines with her work as a restoration specialist. Not only that, but you'll get to try the artefact-restoration gameplay, and discover the real history behind each piece.

With calm, relaxing gameplay and the evergreen pleasure of restoring and cleaning something, I can see Restoria being quite the hit when it does hit full release.
