Halloween is nearly upon us, so Rec Room has announced a collaboration with The Haunt Society – a directory for haunted houses – to commemorate the occasion. From today, you can take a virtual tour of a haunted house and settle down with other players to enjoy a screening of 2014's found horror flick, The Houses October Built.

The film was written by The Haunt Society's founders, Zack Andrews and Bobby Roe. It follows a group of friends encountering plenty of paranormal experiences as they embark on a hunt for the most haunted house. You can tune into the screen on October 28th at 3 pm PT through this link.

Discussing the collaboration, Bobby Coe, Co-Founder of Haunt Society, said: “When Rec Room approached us to help create ‘The House of Terror,’ we saw it as an amazing opportunity to engage with members of the haunt community around the world.”

“Haunt Society was founded to showcase the best haunted houses around the world, so it was an honor and privilege to partner with Rec Room to lend our experience. For thrill seekers, we always encourage you to visit your local haunted houses, but now you have the option to enter a new haunt experience in the daytime, too.”

Away from haunted houses and spooky movies, Rec Room will also host a new limited-time event called Invasion. It sees you tasked with finding power cores, which will appear in 30 select UGC rooms. If you track them down, with the help of Rec Room's Science Department, you will earn XP and other rewards.

Rec Room is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It is free-to-play with in-app purchases. You can download it by clicking either of the links below.
