Realms of Pixel guide - 7 tips for your quick progress

Once you start playing Realms of Pixel, you might think it's as simple as challenging new Adventure mode stages and going AFK - that couldn't be further from the truth, and if you want to know what you can do (and do it right too), today I have a Realms of Pixel guide for you that should explain everything!

It has an incremental level of difficulty, as most do, and you will need a lot of power to progress. Despite you getting 5-star heroes at the start, they will not be enough. Sounds tough? Well, that's because it is. You can get duplicates and upgrade your heroes - you get the jist.

What you should be doing to unlock the end-game content and what you should avoid doing is what I am here to talk about today, and that's what you will find on the following pages. Take it from someone who's made their fair share of mistakes too, and I am advising you against doing the same!

Do you want to be F2P or not, really?

The first thing you should decide is whether or not you want to spend real money here. Will you rely on every single resource you can get your hands on, and maximise them? As you can imagine, there is a P2W factor, since it's a gacha.

VIP levels are incredibly important, and you can boost these by either charging or completing Achievements. Your goal should be to reach VIP 2 (at least) since that's when you can use the Marvel Recruit. This uses 1000 Energy to recruit a 5-star Hero, which can be pretty good if luck is on your side.

Don't forget to claim the latest Realms of Pixel codes and check the tier list for Realms of Pixel too, so you know which heroes you should be shifting your attention to!
Below you can find tips and tricks for Realms of Pixel, as well as some useful resources that will enable you to progress quickly.

Tip #1 - Progress as fast as you can at the beginning

battle in realms of pixel

The game might start off a little bit slow, but if you want to gain access to all the features it has, you will need to level up - and quite a bit, to be honest. Once you're at a pretty high level, you will unlock pretty much all of the end-game features, which are extremely fun and rewarding.

How to progress fast in Realms of Pixel

In my experience, what I recommend you do to progress as quickly as possible is to do as many summons as you can at the start. You will get quite a few summon tickets from the log-ins and events, and if you redeem the codes, you'll have a chunk of resources that you can use to help you get some (hopefully) good heroes.

After you have a pretty decent team, let's say, about 2-3 characters that are decent, then you can invest your resources in them and try to pass as many stages as you can. For reaching certain level milestones you will get amazing rewards, such as gear, heroes or 5-star hero shards, which will come in handy.

Just focus on this, and you will find yourself levelling up at a decent rate in no time!

Tip #2 - Save your Gems

log in rewards free summon tickets

Your Gems are crucial when it comes to getting time-limited heroes or upgrading your VIP level. If you are a F2P player, you will need a lot of them to do all the summons possible during limited events.

I recommend you save up as many Gems as you can and not use them to summon heroes. Once you reach around level 80, you will be able to make better decisions concerning your Gems and what you want to spend them on. Until then, rely on the resources you get from PvE and events.

Tip #3 - Pick the right starter heroes to focus on

legendary hero summon

When you start, chances are quite small that you'll get the heroes you want in your first pulls. That's why you want to reach level 20 ASAP and claim the newbie summon tickets. The more you level up and progress, the more you'll get, up to 4000 draws. For each day you log in, you will get 15 tickets for free, from day 1 up until day 267 (almost 9 months).

After you get some free summon tickets, you can then start assembling a team. The heroes you can focus on at the start should be the ones that are in the top tiers of our tier list (from S+ tier until A tier). Ideally, it's safe to go for Etch Witch, Sword Sage, and Moonshadow, which can easily help you clear up enemies.

Tip #4 - Don't forget about the freebies

chat with codes

There are a lot of freebies you can get in Realms of Pixel. You should try and complete everything on a daily basis if you want to have good progress every day, and reach the end-game content ASAP.

Some of the tasks include:

  • Log in every day (even if you can't play the game) so you can claim the rewards.
  • Use an Invite Code at the start to get even more rewards (Bonus> Invite Code). You can find one in the global chat - just copy it and type it there.
  • Redeem the exclusive codes.
  • Get your idle rewards ("Gains while Offline" from the Adventure> stopwatch on the bottom left corner).
  • Check your mailbox for daily rewards from the devs or from Arena ranking.
  • There are social media events running on the Facebook page or Discord server, which you can attend.

Of course, there are many more, but some of them require you to play for a little bit - such as the daily rewards. If you have the time, these are worth considering.

Tip #5 - Check the Shop regularly

daily shop

In the Shop you have plenty of tabs where you can either exchange resources for goods or purchase them straight up using Gold or Gems. If there is something I would recommend you buy every day, it would be these:

Daily Shop:
  • Daily free reward (it's free!)
  • Star Isle Visa (25 Gems)
  • 5-Star Hero Shard x5 (200 Gems)
  • Moon Grimoire (if you need it) (600 Gems)
  • Meteor Grimoire (if you need it) (300 Gems)
  • Ascend Crest (only if you need) (80 Gems)
Mystery Shop:
  • Specific gold gears (only if you need)
  • Meteor Grimoire (for Gold)
  • Star Isle Visa
  • 5-star hero shards
  • 5-star heroes
Hero Shop:
  • Vanquisher Shards
  • Other S+ or S tier hero shards
Arena Shop:
  • Awakening Vial (if you need)
  • Dormant Hourglass (if you need) - it's good to have at least a couple of them for backup
Shattered Shop:
  • Whatever you feel like - it's not that easy gathering a lot of Relic Prisms, so by the time you have enough, you'll know exactly what you want to buy.
Ruins Shop:
  • Same as Shattered Shop.

Tip #6 - Play in the Arena every day

ranking in power

It's not that obvious what Arena challenges have to offer at the beginning, so if you want to skip it entirely, I get it. However, even if it seems like it would give you absolutely nothing, I strongly recommend you fight your way up using all of your daily tries.

Challenge enemies that are weaker than you, and try to rank as high as you can, because every day you'll get in your mailbox a reward based on your ranking. You should especially challenge in the Arena at the end of the day, when let's say you've already upgraded your team quite a bit and your power is higher.

Not to mention, the more you challenge, the more Arena Medals you'll collect and you can purchase goods from the Arena Shop. Don't sleep on this!

Tip #7 - Form a team based on the Attributes bonus for maximum power

6 star hero

When you want to form a team, you can see the Attribute Suppress bonus on the top left corner of the screen. This will tell you exactly what bonus your team has based on the attribute the heroes deployed have.

The best team possible would have 6 Advent/Ascension heroes, because that will give you a total of +36% HP and +24% ATK. However, until you get the 6 Advent/Ascension heroes, you can make the Order/Justice/Freedom bonus work.

Ideally, you want to have 6 heroes of the same faction deployed to activate the last bonus. The more heroes of the same faction deployed you have, the better.

To me, the easiest beginner team would be an Order team (blue), which has 6 blue heroes deployed. Now it depends on what heroes you have summoned, of course, but generally, try to go for the team that you have most heroes of.
