Relentless Software, maker of the best-selling Buzz! series on PS2, PS3 has told Pocket Gamer that the company’s move from exclusively console development to iPhone has been "empowering" and a "liberating" experience for the firm.

David Amor, executive director of the company, explains that the smaller teams needed for the company’s iOS output have given the developers and artists more input into their games and allowed for more varied ideas, making the process feel like it used to "10-15 years ago".

Among the benefits of developing for iOS is the fact that it's a relatively easy system to develop for, with few variables in hardware to take into account – an issue that has regularly plagued Android developers.

The company decided to move development away from purely home console because after concluding that the "market is elsewhere".

Relentless’s upcoming iPhone debut Quiz Climber is due out this summer, published by Chillingo.
