Classic NES fighter Punch-Out!! heading to 3DS Virtual Console in Japan

Classic (that is to say: really quite old now) boxing title Punch-Out!! appears to be on its way to the 3DS Virtual Console. Just as we requested.
For all you whippersnappers out there, Punch-Out!! was the first title in the acclaimed arcade boxing series and appeared on the NES way back in 1987.
It featured a 'behind-your-boxer' viewpoint and a variety of monstrous / cartoony villains for you to pound into submission. It was also devilishly tricky - even back then - so I expect it'll now fall into the 'harder-than-hardcore' category of gaming punishment.
According to the listing on the Nintendo Japan website (spotted by VG247), the game will be released on February 21st, priced at ¥500.
Given that Punch-Out!! is already available on the Wii Virtual Console, we wouldn't be overly surprised to see it pop up on European and American 3DSs a little later this year.
