PUBG Mobile is bringing something entirely new to the table at gamescom 2025 - its first-ever asymmetrical PvP mode, Unfail. Part of the upcoming Version 4.0 update, this mode flips the familiar battle royale formula into a tense game of pursuit and survival. If you’re heading to Cologne this week, you’ll be among the first to try it at the PUBG Mobile booth in Hall 6.1.
Each Unfail match in PUBG Mobile is built around a five-player showdown. One Predator enters the arena armed with distinct powers designed to track, chase, and eliminate opponents. On the other side, four Survivors must work together, activating terminals scattered across the map and racing to open an exit gate before the Predator catches them.
Unfail is the centrepiece of PUBG Mobile’s Beyond Battle Royale showcase at gamescom. Visitors won’t just get hands-on time with the new mode - they’ll also get a first look at Version 4.0’s Spooky Soiree theme. Expect ghostly powers and mechanics that shift how matches play out, adding a thrilling twist to familiar battlegrounds.
The booth also highlights World of Wonder, PUBG Mobile’s evolving creation platform, with on-site opportunities to build and play in custom scenarios. Content creators will be on hand as well, hosting interactive sessions and activities throughout the event.

Adding to the presence at gamescom, PUBG Mobile producer Rick Li will speak at the Playing for the Planet panel on August 21st. His talk will explore how the studio is weaving sustainability into its projects and encouraging players to take action beyond their screens.
