Pokémon TCG Pocket releases new card art for Lugia and Ho-Oh
  • Pokémon TCG Pocket has released a new fix for missing card art
  • Lugia and Ho-oh now have official new immersive card artwork
  • It follows an issue with reference materials for the original release

It's been a week of ups and downs for Pokémon TCG Pocket. On the one hand, we've had the recent release of Wisdom of Sea and Sky, boasting amazing new additions from the Johto region. But on the other, we've also had the issue with Lugia and Ho-Oh's art that's been fixed as of today.

For those of you unaware, it turned out there had been some confusion behind the scenes regarding the official references used for Lugia and Ho-oh. While we're not totally privy to what that is, I would assume some sort of fan art slipped into the reference pile.

The bottom line is that their immersive artwork was unceremoniously replaced with a rather ugly-looking placeholder. That is, until today, when Pokémon TCG Pocket has finally gotten around to replacing the art, which is either live as of the time of writing or likely coming very soon.

While it's a pretty unfortunate case that this happened in the first place, it's also good that Pokémon TCG Pocket was (relatively) quick to correct it. TCG Pocket has its problems, but overall, it's been received well by fans of the franchise to this point.

Although for most of you, this probably won't matter too much. Because, according to the peanut gallery here at Pocket Gamer, Lugia isn't that good anyway. But if you're a die-hard for these legendary Johto Pokémon, there's nothing stopping you from enjoying their revamped card art now.

In the meantime, if you're planning on checking out some of the other top options for card fans out there, then mobile is the right place for you. Why not dig into our list of the best card games for Android and get some other great ways to play in this classic format on mobile?
