Pokémon Go will welcome Snom and Munchlax during Cozy Companions and Hatch Day events
Double whammy before the Max Finale

- Snom and Frosmoth make their debut during Cozy Companions
- Munchlax Hatch Day offers boosted shiny odds and exclusive Timed Research
- Both events feature paid research options and limited-time bonuses
With the Pokémon Go Fest 2025: Max Finale set to light up the map on August 23rd and 24th, the buildup begins with two events packed with new debuts, bonuses, and shiny hunts. First up is Cozy Companions, bringing Snom and Frosmoth to Pokémon Go, followed by Munchlax Hatch Day, a one-day Egg-fest dedicated to the reliably sleepy Gen IV baby.
The Cozy Companions event runs in Pokémon Go from August 6th to 12th. Snom makes its debut during the weeklong event, alongside its evolution, Frosmoth. In order to achieve this evolution, you’ll need 400 Candy, 10 buddy hearts, and some nighttime training.
Alongside that frosty addition, Shiny Tandemaus is also making its first appearance, especially if you’re heading into Party Play. Field research, wild spawns, and seven km Eggs bring plenty more to the mix, including Charcadet, Alolan Geodude, and Galarian Farfetch’d. Friendship bonuses are also in effect, meaning faster progress through Gifts, battles, and trades.

There’s free Timed Research featuring Snom and Tandemaus, and a paid track for $1.99 adds a Lucky Egg, Star Piece, and bonus encounters. If you’re planning on hatching, the 2x XP bonus and new Shiny options might be worth the extra steps. Don't forget to grab yourself some additional freebies by redeeming these Pokémon Go codes!
Then comes Munchlax Hatch Day on August 9th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm local time. For six hours, you’ll have better odds at Shiny Munchlax from two km Eggs, plus 2x Candy on hatches and more two km Eggs dropping from PokéStops. You’ll also get a free Timed Research with an Incubator and XP. A $1.99 paid version throws in Stardust bonuses, Super Incubators, as well as a Star Piece.
Together, these two events offer a solid warm-up before the Pokémon Go Fest hits its peak later this month. You can stock up and prepare for them by purchasing bundles from the Pokémon Go Web Store.
